I will introduce a fast, simple and friendly solution for remote access over the Internet. It is TeamViewer, which is absolutely FREE for personal, non-commercial use. It has great advantages in speed and functions, compared with other softwares alike, such as PCanywhere, VNC, rAdmin. The package is very small, runing immediately without installation. The most important point is that it can instantly take control over a computer anywhere on the Internet, even through firewalls without opening any NAT port. What is more, it can be used for file transfer, chat and more.

Have you ever been asked to help your friends or relatives when their computers or network have something wrong? Usually it will take you much time to talk over phones, but finally the problem is hard to solve? Under such condition, you must be eager to remotely connect to his computer directly. At the same time, you must be worried about the complex process to install the remote control programs, as most software requires special network infrastructure and NAT ports opened. And all of those tasks may seem to be impossible for your friends… Then is there any simple way on earth? YES, you may go and fetch the computer…$%#@

In fact, there is one more method which can bring you most convenience. That is to use TeamViewer~ What your friend need to do is to key in the URL to download it and execute, without managing NET and Firewall at all.


Installation:

1. Download the Teamviewer Client program on the remote PC. Go and visit http://www.teamviewer.com/download/index.aspx and press “download”. (Or you may directly download it from: http://www.teamviewer.com/download/TeamViewerQS.exe )

2. Execute the downloaded TeamViewerQS.exe. Below page will pop-up with 8-bit ID and 4-bit Password. Until now, the task is finished for the remote party. But please remember to keep the TeamViewerQS window open. Or else, no connection can be established.

3. Download and Install the TeamViewer Server program on your own PC. You may choose to use it after installation or without installation. The package size is only 1.3MB.

4. Execute TeamViewer_Setup.exe and click "Next" then.

5. Choose "I accept the ...", and click "Next".

6. Choose "Start without Installation" to use it directly without installation. Press "Next".

7. Key in the 8-bit ID shown at step 2 and press "Connect".

8. Key in the 4-bit password shown at step 2 and press "Log On".

Now you may happy to see that you have already successful remote access to the remote desktop. So easy it is~


The advantages of TeamViewer:
1. Work with multi-NAT and no port opened.
2. Data is transmitted completely using https/SSL.
3. No installation is needed.
4. Can also be used for File Transfer, Chat and so on.
